SLP 542 AAC Across the Lifespan

Students examine principles and practices of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) for complex communication needs across the lifespan. The course emphasizes system design, personalization, and ethical, culturally responsive decision-making. Students analyze linguistic, motor, and psychosocial influences and build a framework for evidence-based assessment, intervention, and advocacy across diverse clinical contexts. Prerequisite: SLP-504 and SLP-514.
