NUR 231 Pharmacology for Healthcare Providers II

This is the second of two courses designed to provide nursing students with the necessary knowledge of pharmacotherapeutic agents used in the treatment of illness, health maintenance and promotion. Included are drug classifications, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics. The course will also provide a brief overview of pharmacogenomics its impact healthcare practice. Emphasis is placed on the understanding of nursing responsibilities in safe administration and monitoring of pharmacotherapeutic agents. Prerequisite: NUR-102 and NUR-131. Co-requisite: NUR-201.
