NUR 105 Fundamentals of Nursing Practice

This course reviews comprehensive health assessments including physiological, psychological, sociological, cultural, and spiritual assessments, as well as identification of stressors and health risks. Roles of the nurse in micro- and macrosystems, as well as profession-related and patient care concepts to provide safe, quality care are also covered. Nursing process provides a decision-making framework to improve clinical judgment skills. Students review the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to promote health and preventing disease as patients strive to reach their optimal state of wellness along with wellness as a means of minimizing burnout and compassion fatigue.
