Environmental Policy, Bachelor of Arts

The major in Environmental Policy leads to a Bachelor of Arts degree and is designed to prepare students for careers in law, policy, advocacy, business or communications.  With a broad understanding of the social, ethical and economic implications of environmental issues, students are equipped to work in the public, private or non-profit sector.

Features of this major: Core courses provide a survey of environmental issues; a grounding in basic principles of environmental science, stewardship and ethics with field experience in both natural and human environments. Additional courses will develop an understanding of organizational structures and management strategies relevant to environmental agencies, businesses, and nonprofits. An internship in the student’s selected area of focus is required so students gain practical experience in their field of interest
