FRN542T Reimagining Childhood-Francophone World

Examines the representation of childhood in major literary works by Francophone authors such as Tahar Ben Jelloun, Patrick Chamoiseau, Assia Djebar and Natalie Sarraute. Explores the notions of memory and self-discovery, and the relationship of the child to his or her sexuality, religion, family, society and nation. Prerequisite: Permission of the Master of Humanities director.
