Includes the impact of gender ideology on women's identity through the family; their economic position, social status and religious experiences; women's response to the Reformation and the Civil War, and what impact these crises had on their position in society and how they saw themselves; the intersection of rank and gender; and the degree to which women developed, in this period, a unique voice or a separate female culture.
