HIS316 American Material Culture

The study of material life in America from the colonial to the Civil War period. Focus on use and interpretation of artifacts as historical documents. Introduction to methods and application in historical archaeology and how artifacts are presented to the public through museums, the media, etc. Special emphasis on using the college archives in projects and assignments.
