A study of works by women writers from Francophone Africa and the Caribbean. Explores a variety of topics, including colonialism,motherhood, oppression, exile and the intersections between class and gender. Texts will include works by Mariama Bâ, Maryse Condé, Assia Djebar and Simone Schwartz-Bart. Prerequisite: Permission of the Master of Humanities director.
