SPN 257T Global Health Service Learning Abroad

A globalA global health service-learning trip to a country in Latin America (Mexico, Central America, South America or the Caribbean), where students will assist local populations through relevant service work. We will study global health inequalities and efforts to resolve them in the context of our own work in the same. Includes background orientation to our destination country, characteristics of the patient population we will serve, and study of health-care delivery across linguistic and cultural barriers. Prerequisite: Foundations in English course, Permission of the Instructor, and Approved Study Abroad Application. NWC, CD.
