ENG 117 Comic-Book Memoirs of Illness

An introduction to visual storytelling through study of graphic memoirs of illness, disability, and caregiving. Texts feature illnesses ranging from Alzheimer's and cancer to anorexia and bipolar disorder, with a focus on marginalized voices often excluded from traditional medical discourse. Prerequisite: Foundations course in English. LIT, ART, and WI.
