TCP Admission
To be considered for TCP admission, students must hold a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
The Foreign Language Intern Pathway (FLIP) also requires the student to have passed the required state testing and be employed as a foreign language teacher.
Acceptance will be granted based on an application process that includes: a review of the candidate’s application packet (official transcripts, reference letters, essay, resume, current clearances) and a successful interview with the director of the Teacher Certification Pathways. Successful candidates will be those who have acquired work and life experience transferable to classroom teaching, and who reflect potential for success in an early childhood (Pre-K-4), special education, middle-level, Pre-K-12 or secondary classroom. During the admissions interview, the student will receive an official transcript evaluation completed by the TCP director.
Once a FLIP candidate has submitted all required application materials and successfully completed the interview, the candidate will be officially accepted to FLIP program.
Admission Requirements
Official acceptance will be granted when the TIP/TOP student has earned a 3.0 GPA or higher from the student's bachelor's degree institution. If GPA is below a 3.0, the student will be provisionally accepted and must earn a B or better in the first two education/special education courses taken.
