SOC 380 Qualitative Methods and Social Research

Introduces students to basic research procedures for collecting qualitative data in the social sciences. Students learn to analyze qualitative data, and to conduct archival research, participant observation, and depth-interviews. Considers theoretical underpinnings of qualitative research with special attention to research ethics and project design. Prerequisite: SOC 120 and any 200-level course in a social science discipline.
