Courses offered on an occasional basis to enhance the curriculum. Readings from important women writers from the Middle Ages to the present. Authors may include Marie de France, Christine de Pisan, Marguerite de Navarre, Louise Labé, Pernette du Guillet, Madame de Lafayette, Françoise de Grafigny, George Sand, Colette, Marguerite Yourcenar, Simone de Beauvoir, Marguerite Duras, Violette Leduc, Hélène Cixous, Anne Hébert, Assia Djebar, Maryse Condé, Simone Schwarz-Bart and Mariama Bâ.
