SPN 332T Cervantes' Don Quijote de la Mancha
Course in translation. Close reading and discussion of Don Quijote. Background lectures will depict the contexts (historical, social, cultural) in which Cervantes wrote his masterpiece. Additional readings will acquaint students with some of the most important criticism relating to Don Quijote, particularly its role as perhaps the first metafictional modern novel. Prerequisite: Foundations in English Course AND one 200-level course in any discipline.
