GS 225 Comparative Development in Asia

This course will provide a comparative examination of the variety of different political, economic and social developmental strategies and outcomes seen throughout East Asia. Important topics include Japan, Inc. and the developmental state, the "Asian Tigers", the Asian Financial Crisis and China's rise as an economic powerhouse.
