CLS 215 Women in Antiquity
The role and status of women in ancient cultures (primarily those of Greece and Rome) from historical and archaeological sources as well as from myth, literature and art. Comparisons with roles and stereotypes of women in contemporary society and the idea of goddess and matriarchy in modern feminism. Prerequisite: Foundations course in English. FWC, WS, WI
