SOC 202 Sociology of the Family

Examines the changing nature of the family in U.S. society. Varied perspectives and empirical studies are  incorporated to facilitate an understanding of the transitions taking place in the areas of gender roles, coupling and parent-child relationships. This course takes a multicultural approach and addresses historical, political, and economic factors that shape family formation. Prerequisite: SOC 120. CC
