HSC 111 Microbiology for Nurses

Emphasizes the interaction of non-pathogenic and pathogenic microorganisms with humans and their implications with health. This will enable students to understand disease-causing presentatives of different groups of microorganisms from modes of transmission to methods of control. They also learn the accepted policies pertaining to the containment of infectious microorganisms within the hospital environment. The lecture material is complimented by laboratory exercises in which students acquire hands-on experience by applying the microbiological concepts. NSL
